LPKF moves to new site in Fürth

LPKF Laser & Electronics, manufacturer of machines and laser systems used in electronics fabrication, has relocated its production facilities to a new site in Fürth.

The new building has around 10,000 sqm of production space, more than twice the area of the previous site. The Application Centre for the optimisation of customer-specific processes has also expanded.

The November relocation has been done earlier than was initially planned (early 2014). The existing building required some minor modifications to bring align it with the company’s requirements. However, construction work on the new extension for administration and laboratories will start in early 2014, and is scheduled for completion by the end of the year. For the meantime, a temporary space in the office and system containers in the production building will be in use.

The high expectations for the new premises have already been satisfied in full, said LPKF CEO Dr Ingo Brett¬hauer; Performance has already been boosted since the production department moved to the site in August, he said.

Frank Brunnecker, Senior Vice President Laser Welding Division said that he also expects a significant reduction in lead times because of the new options now available for production planning.
