Boy to showcase two-component-goggles; largest injection moulding machine at Taiwan's Plascom

German injection moulding machines manufacturer, Dr Boy GmbH & Co. KG (Boy) will be showcasing a 100 E at the Taiwan International Plastics, Rubber and Components (Plascom) event to be held September 13-16 on September. At the booth (hall B5 / booth No. 5325) of the Taiwanese Boy-representative Asia Gatekeeper Commerce Co, Ltd, the largest Boy injection moulding machine with a clamping force of 1,000 kN and an additional injection unit Boy 2C XS produces two-component-goggles.

The transparent lenses, the frame and the dyed goggle hangers are manufactured in just one operation in 25 seconds. While the Boy 100 E injects an especially high-crystal PP for the glasses and the frame into the mould, the injection unit for the second component delivers a dyed PP for the goggle hangers (1.7 g PP each). The two materials firmly combine together in the hinge of the goggles.

According to Boy’s press release, the Boy-E-series, which is equipped with an energy-efficient servo drive with a correspondingly low heat emission; and with its small installation areas is expected to gain foothold in the Taiwanese market. “Made in Germany, in combination with an attractive price-performance ratio is also the ideal combination for users in Taiwan, "said Wolfgang Schmidt, Export Manager of Boy.

Founded in 1968, Boy has over 45,000 injection moulding machines delieverd worldwide. The privately-owned company also stated that it continues to put special emphasis on engineered performance and high-class "made in Germany" workmanship in its injection moulding machines with clamping forces up to 1,000 kN. The very compact, durable machines work with precision, are energy-saving , and thus highly economical, the company added.
