Husky’s Shanghai technical centre gains ISO accreditation for preforms

Canada-based machine maker Husky Injection Molding Systems says its its Packaging Development Centre (PDC) QC-Laboratory in Shanghai has successfully received ISO 17025 accreditation for preform inspection.

The ISO 17025 accreditation, audited by China National Accreditation Service for Conformity Assessment (CNAS), specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of laboratories. It is an international quality standard for testing and calibration laboratories and sets the highest levels on quality management and technical requirements.

Husky first established a presence in China in 2004 with the opening of its Shanghai Technical Centre, which serves as the company’s Asia Pacific headquarters. Formed in 2007, Husky’s Shanghai PDC team offers beverage PET packaging prototype sampling, beverage closure piloting and a portfolio of inspection scope and measurements, to help customers in the Asia Pacific region meet the fast changing needs of this market. Supported by Husky’s global PDC organisation, the Shanghai PDC QC-Lab offers multiple services with some of the fastest lead times in the industry.

Moving forward, Husky says the ISO 17025 accreditation will continue it to deliver customers “the highest quality, most innovative solutions backed by the industry’s most knowledgeable inspection experts”.

To ensure Husky’s Shanghai PDC QC-Laboratory maintains high certification standards, the Quality Management Systems are checked once per year internally by the Management Review and externally by the recurring annual audit of an official CNAS auditor.
