Wittmann completes facility extension

Austria-headquartered Wittmann Group, which manufactures injection moulding machines, robots and peripheral equipment, has extended its facility in Nuremberg, Germany. Following the opening of the extension, the total amount of usable floor space in the office bulding is now 1,800 sq m.

The production hall has a total floor space of 3,000 sq m, which includes a 300 sq m technical lab and 750 sq m of warehouse facilities. Here too, it was possible to gain some 40 sq m of additional production floor space by moving a conference room from the assembly area into the office building.

At the beginning of 2013, Wittmann Robot Systems in Nuremberg was able to move into its new building in the southern part of the city. A generously planned building complex, its existing options for expansion, however, were already fully exploited by 2017, as a result of the “unexpectedly high and continuously rising demand for automation solutions,” the firm says.

It was then decided to extend the office building to meet especially the needs of the departments dealing with automation systems.

The extension in Nuremberg was completed at the end of May this year, and from the beginning of this month, the new building has been occupied by a number of new staff members. Wittmann says it is now prepared to meet future growth.
